A beautiful girl walked on the dance floor
Feeling lost and confused
When a gentleman appeared and smiled with muse
And the gentleman asked her to dance

She said nothing
And turned away
Determined not to make a fool of herself that day
And the gentleman asked her to dance

She glanced at him
But looked away
Then he gently grabbed her hand, "please" he would say
And the gentleman asked her to dance

He pleaded and begged
But received no answer
For the girl could not speak, but he did not know this of her
And yet the gentleman STILL asked her to dance

Finally, she gave in
Giving a curt nod
And across he dance floor they trod
And the gentleman asked her her name

She could not answer
She could not speak
She could only stare at the floor, feeling weak
The dream ended

The girl woke up, to her displeasure
She wished she could shout out and scream
But how could she?
She couldn't speak

So she could not tell the gentleman her name.
